New Year Resolutions
I've been trying to have success with the same resolution for several years now, but have been failing. This year I'll try again to achieve my goal of using less plastic. It's packaging that frustrates me the most. At fast food establishments: why is paper good enough for one burger, but the other has to be protected in a plastic clam shell. I have a few reusable water bottles, wish I could remember to take them with me. It's the same with shopping bags, even with all the reminders put in place, they are often in the back seat while I'm in the store.

Great new years resolution! In Germany, sorting trash is part of life...and can get annoying. However, at lots of stores (grocery, IKEA,...) people can leave their packaging behind in store provided containers. The stores may even be required to do this. For example, you can take the cereal bag out of the box and leave the box behind. One less piece to deal with. I think this makes the stores consider stocking items with less packaging, which in turn makes the manufacturers want to use less packaging. Chain reaction. I do have to say, that I miss the plastic lid on the yogurts...the foil just isn't strong enough to survive the trip home.
I cursed myself...foil on my yogurt broke today!
