We arrived in the beautiful Teton Valley this week. We have been working to get the place cleaned, grass mowed, and discover what projects we will do this summer. But we took time out to go to the first of the season, Music on Main. The parks & recreation dept. in Victor had recently finished this great new stage. There are food vendors set up along the outside edge of the park, mostly run by local restaurants. The entertainment usually consists of a local or Jackson musical group for the warm-up act and the main acts are from Chicago, LA, New Orleans, Austin, etc. Those performers that haven't been here before are shocked by the size of the crowd; maybe 1500 people, though someone said this past week's was over 2200. I know it doesn't look like that in this picture, but there were many, many behind us and off to the sides. Not to mention that half are in the beer & wine line or food lines and this was taken during the warm up. The concerts are free and are every Thurs. evening 6:00 - 11:00. Last Thursday's headliner was Andy Frasco & the U.N. I really enjoyed it. Probably more than any of the ones I saw last year. This year they have added more concerts and they will go on 'til mid August.
There was a welcome home and glad you are getting well party off to one side of the park for my friend, Matt. He recently had a rare surgery that he had to travel far for. He was speaking in a whisper, but smiling broadly and other than being a bit thin, he looked great. It was great to see him get about a thousand hugs that night. Bet he was tired the next day.
