Yes, back in Georgia there are roads that aren't paved. However, other than those just under construction you usually don't want to be in the areas where the roads are dirt. Out here dirt and gravel roads can be main drags. I once saw a book about how to drive across the entire state of Wyoming (the state next door) without touching pavement. Though my driveway and street are paved I cannot get to town without driving on 3 miles of gravel roads. But the dirt roads that make you feel like you are on an adventure are off the valley floor leading up into the mountains. The Big Hole Mountains are 10 miles to our west. They are part of the Snake River Range and are designated the Caribou Targhee National Forest. Being in a National Forest some of the roads are maintained - somewhat!. We took a drive up there last weekend in our old Chevy Suburban. The roads were deeply rutted in some spots because of the very late snow melt (others went up there too soon and drove through the mud). But the bouncing around was worth it for some of the views and sights we got. We are hoping someday to get actual 4-wheelers and go deeper into the mountains. The last picture is where we came out of the forest. This hill is where we go sledding every holiday season.

Beautiful pics!! We would love to be out there with you instead of in this humid midwest heat wave!! :)
Just saw a 4-wheeler for sale...I'll send it out to you :)
Come on out. Nights in the low 50s, days in the 70s. No need for airconditioning.
That sounds perfect and the scenery couldn't be more gorgeous! Can't wait to see pics from the wedding on your land (will you post them?!).
