We have heard a lot lately about bullying in schools. This has gone on forever. Maybe we were the ones that were bullied or perhaps we were the ones who did the meanness way back when we were in school, but we now know the devastating damage that this cruelty can do. There are programs and policies to help stop this epidemic of damage (now epidemic because of cyber bullying) but how can we ignore the obnoxious bullying that goes on everyday on our televisions? Here we are in the midst of campaign season and we are allowing our children to watch and hear adults rudely call out those that differ politically from them as well as spread lies. How can we teach civility without acting it.
