I do like television. I'm not one of those who say "on one of my rare moments of watching tv I saw ....." If it has been on television I have probably seen it. Of course there are things I wish I hadn't seen or heard, but that's the risk.
Here at the vacation house we have a great television set but no cable or satellite service. However we have a remarkable little antennae, a modern day "rabbit ears". This $20-$30 contraption actually pulls in high definition channels and the picture is great. I am also learning how to watch television off the internet. Going to study it all and see if I can cancel cable when I get back home. I'll report on my findings later.
But the purpose of being on vacation is not to sit inside and watch television and I'm not. It does help that it's summer and everything is a repeat. We do watch a few movies via Netflix which are also delivered over the internet and I have discovered PBS Create network to replace my favorite network, HGTV.

Even though you are on vacation there are still times (rainy days, late nights) where it's nice to have a sit down and veg out. :) I like to have the TV on when I'm knitting. I am not a fan of the reality shows like Big Brother so my options are limited anymore. However, I do have my favourite shows and I just record them on the DVR and watch them when I can get around to it. I'd watch a lot more TV if I could find stuff I like. LOL
I could not do without a DVR if I leave cable TV. I think there is an old TIVO still laying around.
Do you like sitcoms? If so, there is a new one called Hot in Cleveland. I like it so far.
