History and Fantasy - Santa tells all

My sister gave me my vacation reading material before I left on my trip last month.  I didn't get into it very far while at our house, but I opened it on the plane from Jackson to Atlanta and was very pleased.  Santa explains everything ... how his generosity was able to grow and expand around the world; why the gift giver is called many different names; and why gifts are exchanged on days other than the 25th.  But the most interesting parts of the book are his recollections of the many historical persons and events he has witnessed in his very long lifetime.
I would lend you the book, but the young man (maybe age 8 or 9) sitting next to me on the plane was so interested in what I was reading that I had to make a gift of the book to him.  A good book for all ages.  The story of Santa and a world history lesson in one volume.

I read the first few pages while in Idaho...and it seemed like a good read...but I was deep into another read, so I was hoping it woudl be around next year, but I think the gift of passing it to the boy on the plane was a good one.

that was very kind to pass along...I can only imagine how happy that made the recipient.
