U.S. Automakers - manufacture what we want!!

I just read that Chevrolet is now going to be manufacturing diesel cars, but only releasing them in Europe "because Americans don't buy diesel cars".  Did they ask anyone or did they just assume that.  Every year that Volkswagen has released clean burning diesel cars they have sold out!  Twice this week Hubby has driven my diesel car because of its long range (600 miles per tank) and because there is no line waiting for, or shortage of diesel fuel.   For those who don't know - cars manufactured in the past 15 years are not the black smoke belching machines that once gave a bad reputation to diesel engines.
