Full Moon and Growling

The sun sets late here in Eastern Idaho.  This is an advantage when you have dogs as you can let them outside later in the evening and not worry too much about wild critters.  I leaned this is a time not to be missed last summer when I let them out after dark and one had an encounter with a skunk.  The other morning their Dad let them out while still somewhat dark.  While standing in the driveway he heard a low growl coming from a treed area just 50 ft. away.  Fortunately the dogs listened and came back into the house quickly.  I made a search of that area looking for footprints or scat but found no clues as to what it was.

This week it is a full moon,  which makes for a dramatic scene when it rises over the Grand Tetons.  Plus it sure lights up the night.  I'm always disappointed that when we are here in the winter, it never coincides with a full moon.  Would love to see the reflection off the snow.

The word Skat makes me chuckle. And yes, I am 36 years old.
