We learned during our very first Spring in Georgia that you don't spring clean until May or later. April is the month of pollen. It covers everything in yellow. It clings to windows and window screens. It is tracked into the house on everything from our hair to our shoes. If it is important that you dust during this pollen season, you have to use a damp cloth. If you have severe allergies to this stuff, it requires keeping the house closed up and cleaning the sidewalks leading to your house daily. Wind and rain don't blow and wash it away. It only stirs it up.
Also in this humid climate once you turn on the air-conditioning you must leave it on. Otherwise you are inviting mold and mildew to take up residence in your house.
