Guten Tag meine Freunde

I've learned the reason Dusseldorf is called "Drizzledorf" by its residents. Even sunny days seem to consist of only one or two hours of brightness, not full sun.  That coupled with only 8 hours of daylight has me yawning frequently and yearning for a nap.

We have gotten out and done a little shopping.  We have gone for walks almost everyday unless it is raining hard. There is the "snail & duck" walk named by Benjamin because we pass two yards that have concrete garden statues of said snail and duck, the "Jesus" walk because we pass  a rather large grotto with a statue and the "duck and sheep" walk.  Those are just walks leaving from the front door.  Walks in the woods require a short car ride.  Oh, I forgot there is also the "Baby Jesus" walk, that passes another shrine nearby.
Benjamin's baptism was last Saturday afternoon in Dusseldorf.  Father Gregory who officiated, originally hails from Denver, CO so the service was in English.  We laughed that the attendees represented 4 continents;  his Mutti (me) from North America; his Godfather, Rodrigo, is from Brazil in South America; of course the others were from Europe and his Dad arrived from Asia.

I'm going to do a prepacking assessment of  space available tonight.  The stores are loaded with Christmas goodies and it would be fun to take some home.  I arrived with 2 pieces of luggage as Leigh had done some online shopping & had items delivered to my house and I brought Christmas
presents.  I was hoping to put the smaller piece inside the empty large one, but I don't think so.  Guess I will be carrying one onboard the plane.

In the midst of the city are many acres of woodlands to take walks in.
