Why aren't these chores a drag?

We arrived in Idaho last Thursday evening.  Driving through Jackson we thought 'oh my gosh it's Atlanta traffic', but as drove further we realized it was a moose jam.  This happens when both tourists and locals spot a moose near the road.  Traffic is reduced to a crawl and drivers abandon their cars to take a picture.

Driving into our neighborhood and into our driveway we were greeted by LOTS of weeds.  We were out the next day trying to eradicate the particular noxious one, Canadian Thistle.  We took great care in removing the ones along the edges of the neighborhood road and in the vicinity of our house.  Then we turned our attention to mowing the weeds that were covering the new grass from the seed I planted last November.  I was pleased to see the grass progress, but shocked at the amount of weeds.  Once the grass reaches 3" we will be able to put down some 'weed and feed'.

We also searched the non-lawn portion of our land and gathered junk that needs to be hauled to the dump.  The folks who own the lot next door showed up to work on their land and were pleased to haul our stuff and the bags of thistle away in their pick-up truck.  That was a great help.

Today's job is chasing dust and dog hair.  It is everywhere and it never quits.  For some reason doing these chores is satisfying.  Must be because we can pause and look around at this outstanding scenery.  Makes it all worthwhile.
