W.H.A.L.E.

I have always wanted to hike and either the time wasn't right or I didn't have anyone to go with. Plus some unpleasant things have happened along some of the scenic trails in Georgia. Not only by bears, or slithering snakes, but by other humans.

Here, surrounding Teton Valley, hiking trails abound and are free from slithering critters and slimy humans. Now the bears ... well I hiked with a crowd today. I met the members of the Women's Hiking and Literary Epicureans (WHALE) at 9:00 this morning in the municipal parking lot in downtown Driggs. We then carpooled up to the ski resort parking lot and took off across the hills, through some beautiful meadows that were flush with wildflower blossoms. Found a particularly scenic spot, sat, ate our lunch and then started back.

I am proud to say I was in the group that hiked the furtherest and finished long before the other group. We were back in town about 1:00. Met a dozen very interesting ladies and had a very good time. If my aching muscles have forgotten about today's hike, I will do this again next Wednesday.

YOU GO GIRL!!! If the "WHALE" implies the size of the women, I guess you were the skinny one. I hope the aches weren't to severe and you will be back at it next week. What is the literary part of the club about?

I don't think you all should use the acronym! It could be misleading.
Sounds very fun...I don't think the mountain wildlife would dare approach a group of whales by the way :)
