Home Fires

Tuesday morning I left my home early for an appointment.  On one of the principle roads I travel, Yellow Creek Road, I rounded a curve road and saw a small fire engine and a couple of other vehicles.  Assuming it was a medical emergency, I didn't really look at the house.  On my return home and passing it another 4 times this week I have looked to see the fire damage to someone's home.  Each and every time I have looked there has been several people huddled together in the yard staring at the house.  The arms of their extended family and friends around the shoulders of the family that live there.

First my sincere hope that no one was injured in this fire, second wish is that they have good insurance, and third is that the family treasures and photos were not located at that end of the house.

Every time I pass a house that has had a fire I remind myself:  Gather up all the photos and put them near a door.

put them in a fire safe...you may not be home in time to get them out.

Scan, save to an external hard drive, & put in safe deposit box.
This also helps protect your computer files from theft...if the external hard drive is laying next to the computer...they will take the computer and the external hard drive.
