Today was a good day for me to recover from the periodontal surgery I had yesterday. (Actually, the only difficult part of my recovery is the soft diet I having to stick to.) I set the TV to come on automatically at 7:00am so I wouldn't miss any of the days inaugural events. How exciting to see that many people show up. I got a call just after the oath and speech from our elderly aunt in Germany. She was so happy for our country.
Hopefully he can motivate the people of this country to start getting involved. And hopefully all the Washington movers and shakers will be cooperative with him, his cabinet, and staff as well as the new Senate and Congress. I'm not a very political person and I have never been much of an activist, but I do have a lot of concern about our sliding economic and educational position in the world. Too long we have sat back and said "it's out of our hands"; "Washington will take care of it"; or simply an exasperated sigh of "politicians".
Progress and Hope for the next 4 years!
