Legal Proceedings Halted

20 months ago we signed a contract to purchase a vacation home in Idaho.  The sellers thought that because planning and zoning laws previously were not uniformly enforced that they would not have to widen a private road before the sale could go through. The law had always been on the book, they just didn't think it would apply to them.  Though we were just 3 months away from our court date, we decided to withdraw our lawsuit. Several reasons, one being that we reached the "tipping point".  We felt that the house value had decreased an amount equal to or more than our legal bills.  And other information gave us the impression that the house maintenance had been neglected for the past 20 months.  So we are now shopping for a new place, as spending time in Idaho is still our desire.

i'm sorry to hear that. I know you were excited when you first saw the house and had big plans for it.

Knowing the emotional drama that the house was putting you through...I think this is a blessing. I hope you find a home soon that will not lead you through any pre-closing drama...and hopefully, not post-closing too. Good luck!
