Birthdays - Mine and the Country's

The country is 232 years old.  And me, well it was one of those decade birthdays.   You know, birthdays that end in the numeral "0".  Everyone makes a big deal of them.  I'd get away with not telling anyone it's my birthday, but when your birthday is on the 4th of July it's difficult to ignore and no one forgets.  But this year was as close as I'll ever get to a non-celebrated birthday.  Today, the 4th, we were traveling across Nebraska, Missouri and Illinois.  I had a nice birthday dinner, but no angel food cake!  I did receive 8, yes eight, birthday greeting cell phone calls.  Thanks everyone - I felt special, even as I was getting my senior discounts.

Happy Birthday Mom. You have an excuse to come back to Dusseldorf...I think seniors (yup, that's you) get half-price weekday tickets on the Rhine boats. I think the savings should more than cover your plane ticket over here. =) Enjoy your new discounts.
