Play Spaces and Imaginations
Brooke recently posted on her blog that she had found an old chalkboard in our basement that she and Katie had played school with in our basement on Harbortown. The writing (a lesson on synonyms and antonyms) had stayed on the board about 18 years and through several moves. To her this was like finding ancient hieroglyphics . This posting unleashed a memory dump from Katie, Rachel, Brooke and Leigh about their rather idyllic life back in Cincinnati. Looking back as adults they saw many positives. I loved reading the recollections and am quite proud that we provided a place that their imaginations were allowed to flourish. I hope they all remember that it doesn't take a finished space furnished by Toys 'R Us to create fond memories and that the best thing they gained from that unfinished basement space was lasting friendships. God bless the four of them - I love them all.

Who knew? Tons of memories on the Harbortown days...you look back (because I am getting that old) and see all the good clean fun that was had by all! We would be able to play hide-n-seek with all the kids on the street and walk to the stores without fear that we would get kidnapped or worse! Thank you for that! Now I have to go write the police again about the cars that speed up and down our street :)
