2013 into 2014

Greetings and best wishes for a happy new year ….

We will spend a quiet evening with friends enjoying lobster tails, steak and a bit of bubbly.  Decided we will end the evening at 12:30 eastern time, not mountain time, since most of us were born in that time zone.  That and we're just too tired to stay up later.

2014 will bring some BIG changes to our lives.  After several years of trying we have finally sold our beautiful home in the mountains of north Georgia.  It was a gorgeous place to live for 17 years but decisions needed to be made to make the next 20 or so years easier for senior living.

We chose Chattanooga because we have close friends and acquaintances there.  With our children busy and far flung across the globe we realized that we need to align with others who will be facing the same challenges of growing older so that we and they have each other to depend upon.

I was actually born in Chattanooga and lived there until I was 13 years old.  So I have spent much time there over the years visiting grandparents.  I don't know that I consider it "going home" as I have lived so many places.   Realized a few months ago that I have lived in Georgia longer than any place in my life, but Georgia is NOT home and never would be.

So here I am on vacation and I have so much to do back east!!  Not likely that we will be able to find that perfect home in time for vacating our current property.  That means a lot of sorting out when I get home for a temporary living situation.

So thankful for all the friends who have been writing and calling telling us what they are going to do to get us moved.

Talk to you (and probably complain about how tired I am) in the new year!
