Weekend in North Carolina

Though we already live in the Blue Ridge Mountains, we travel every June to the Murphy/Hayesville, NC area to get away for a couple of days and also attend The John C. Campbell Folk Art School auction.  This beautiful vessel was the result of my winning bid.  It is standing next to last year's purchase.  I haven't found a permanent place for it.  Look up the school and its online catalog of classes.  It has been in the same location since 1927 teaching the crafts and arts of Appalachia and of course, beyond.  The school makes a bundle during these auctions to continue their mission.
Our lodging (a VRBO.com home) was situated above this golf course and overlooking Lake Chatuge.  It was a beautiful site.  The clouds parted enough for us to have a beautiful pontoon boat cruise on the lake and 18 miserable holes of golf on this course.

Traditions, like the ones you have with you friends are nice. I am pretty sure if I picked up my golf clubs, I would be yelling 'fore' a lot.
