We are getting ready for our trip. It's a 3 day drive which we have to take because we are traveling with our dogs. No leaving them behind for 3 months as they enjoy Idaho as much as we do. However, traveling with dogs presents it challenges. #1 is finding affordable accommodations. Sure many hotel chains say they are pet friendly, but add $10 to $75 per pet to your bill - ouch. If I were younger I would start a hotel chain for dogs and their owners. Dogs are the guests and they can bring up to 2 persons with them. These rooms would be pet proof. No bedspreads, dust ruffles or carpeting. A vinyl floor appeals to me even without pets allowed in a room. Old dirty carpeting is so gross!
Challenge #2: There are restaurants that allow dogs on their patios while you are dining, but when you are traveling no way to get far off the highway to find those. This results in us having roadside picnics for the first 1-1/2 days and fast food after that. Even our evening meals have to be eaten in our room, because we can't leave the dogs alone in either the hot car or the room.
Challenge #3: Walking the dogs where other dogs have been. This results in our dogs wanting to investigate all the smells and also the fear (though we take precautions and have not had this problem) of picking up a flea or two.
Should my house sell this summer, maybe a small motorhome is in my future?????

Oh my. When I look at that picture, I realize how much Benjamin has grown in a year. That picture shows a baby face...I cut his hair today and uncovered a beautiful boy. Looking forward to joining you...glad our trip will be via airplane.
I vote yes to the motorhome!
