You remember me writing about my daughter's newly discovered talent for painting. When I wrote about this I mentioned that I had long been buying paints and brushes hoping that doing so would stir some hidden talent in me. I watched her paint this summer, admiring her patience and attention to detail. So this weekend I popped how-to DVDs into the player and sat down to learn to paint. I realized, once again, that I do not have the patience to be talented.
I'm a decent house painter. I painted the kitchen this summer. I stained the components for the new garage door roof and I also refinished an end table. But I was really hoping to create something to hang on the wall.

Maybe do some yoga before hand???
If I watched a DVD on painting, I am pretty sure I would lose interest and patience...boring! I've seen some of your paintings and you do have talent. So, when our coffee gets old tomorrow morning, just dipping a paintbrush and go to town. I find that I have to be painting something happy and whimsical...if I paint something I don't lke...I don't have patience either. ~ Leigh
