Summer drawing to a close.

I know I haven't posted much this summer.  I've done far less hiking, shopping, and home remodeling as in years past.  But that's not to say I haven't had a good time out here in Idaho.  Just being in this peaceful place is always a pleasant experience.  Not to mention my main reason for being here -- escaping the dreadful southern heat.  Less than two weeks and we will be driving back to Georgia.

Had a few guests this summer.  Mike and Micki stopped by for a quick afternoon visit during their stay in Jackson and Yellowstone.  They are from Georgia and were traveling to California for a wedding.  Carol came to visit for a long weekend.  It was great to have her here and we had a good time attending art fairs, taking rides in the country and hiking.  Leigh & Benjamin are currently here.  Will be difficult to see them leave later this week.  They will be stopping in GA where they will meet up with Rene.  They will travel to the beach and  visit friends in Greenville before going back to Dusseldorf.  Leigh & Benjamin will stay in Germany for a couple of weeks before joining Rene in India for 4-5 months.

We aren't planning on coming out this winter and have a renter until next year when we return for the summer.

This year we mowed our entire 2-1/2 acres.  What a chore.  Most of our lot was covered in grasses and weeds and never received a final grading.  Very rocky and very uneven.  In doing that we discovered 25 30 ft. irrigation pipes.  Well, we knew there were there, we just had never measured or counted them. They will be listed on craigslist.org very soon.
