Heat

For the past few summers we have been able to escape the heat of the South by heading to Idaho.  We make this 1800+ mile trip by automobile with our dogs.  Today we got a reminder of summers in the Midwestern states.  30 years ago we lived in Kansas.  The heat was sometimes unbearable because is was always accompanied by wind.  Standing outside was like standing in front of a furnace.  Because of the dogs we picnic on our trip.  No meals in airconditioned restaurants.  Today's picnic was in the shade, but the wind was blowing 101 degree air around us.  Miserable.  


We are in cooling off now in our motel room.  It's the 4th or 5th time we have stayed in this particular motel.  Very clean, welcomes pets, and across the street from our favorite pizza place;  Valentino's, a Nebraska must try.
