Cubic Feet

Several years ago I decided to give an estimated cubic ft measurement to the items I cleaned out of the house, basement, garage, etc.  I found it made me feel better about letting things go when I could say "today I gained 9 cubic feet of space" or "that's 6 cubic feet of stuff that I won't have to move around again".  Today's project at our house is I bring boxes, folders, envelopes filled with paper to Hubby and while he watches football he hands me the papers that have to be shredded, saved, scanned or tossed.  So far I estimate 6 cu. ft. of paper is leaving the house.  Shredding all this would most certainly start our wastebasket shredder smoking so we are saving it for our neighborhood discard day in 3 wks.  They bring in a commercial shredding truck and for $3.00 they shred and dispose of a bank/file box full of paper.

Paper chews up so much space...I've got to do the same thing. That's fantastic that they have a Shred-It Day in your neighborhood. Very smart.
