We took a detour on this year's trip by going to Ohio yesterday. Today, after leaving familiar roads behind in Indianapolis we traveled west on I-74, I-72 and U.S. Route 36. We never knew these roads existed and evidently we weren't the only ones, as we were practically alone on the roads compared to I-70. Rolling through the cornfields of Indiana, Illinois and Missouri in 78 degree, clear weather without the distraction of traffic made for a delightful day.
