Why Not?
I just returned from Germany, the country that invented the freeway/interstate/divided highway/autobahn, etc. And guess what ... they know how to drive them way better than we do. Amazing that lane drops and construction DO NOT cause traffic backups. Construction ahead, the speed limit drops and they actually slow down. That allows traffic to merge into a single lane without braking. Imagine that. I think it's called cooperation, common sense, and not being selfish.

It certainly works a lot of the time...because German's like to follow rules. (Okay, most Germans - Rene is the exception) However this amazing traffic wonder that you experienced while you were here did not seem to exist this weekend between here and Berlin.
