Grandson and I picked up some cold germs along the way during our travels. At first we thought it was some sort of allergy, but after I began having the symptoms, we realized it was not. It has slowed us down a little, but a little Tylenol has worked to keep us going. We have made two day trips out of Dusseldorf and one overnight to one of my favorite German places, the Mosel/Mosselle River.
Just plain sightseeing is not his thing, but he has really gotten into the photography and the eating. Oh my God! The eating. Breakfast buffets .... I keep waiting for the hotel to bill me extra! He has also developed a taste for some strange soft drink manufactured by Coca-Cola which is nothing more than regular Coke mixed with Fanta Orange.
Today he has gone to the zoo with his Aunt. New baby grandson and I are hanging out here in the apartment .... my first babysitting gig with him and his Mom's first time going anywhere without him. Yesterday I got to meet the other grandmom (Oma). She came to visit and brought two absolutely beautiful and delicious cakes. That 4 lbs I was allowing myself to gain .... that probably happened the first few days.

I have been having lots of fun with my visitors. Benjamin's first overnight trip (Mosel) was a success. Elijah and I enjoyed the day at the zoo...and I survived being away from my baby. We are having fun!...I can't believe the trip is almost over. I hope Elijah had enough fun that this will not be his only European vacation. I think he has a real talent for photography...he has taught me a few things.
