Voting early and long lines.

My husband went to the polls this morning to cast his votes early.  The lady said "good thing you did" as our local fire station/polling place is expecting over 2000 people election day.  I bet there is only 20 parking places surrounding this place.  So tomorrow while I'm out I'll be voting early also.

One thing that makes the voting process so long is those crazily worded referendums that always appear on the ballot.  The language is so confusing .... "vote no if you don't think the county should not appointment an independent non partial voting party to decided if this is not feasible or just oppose the referendum on its non merits".  You know those items ... I'm willing to bet most people cast their votes on these without understanding them at all.

I voted earlier this week and stood in line for almost an hour. The thing that surprised me the most was that I did not have to have picture I.D.--only something on it with my signature; credit cards, drivers license, anything with your signature would suffice. Some other places in the Chattanooga area (still Hamilton County) required a picture I.D. I was surprised that it was not consistent. I know who I want to win; however, whoever the winner is, I hope they win by a lot so there isn't months of alleged voter fraud.
